About Hunger
Unlike some other community problems, hunger is invisible. The child sitting next to your child at school may not be getting enough to eat, and nobody would know. Or her parents may feed her supper and go without themselves at the end of the month when money runs short. Hunger transcends all economic and social levels right here in southwestern Pennsylvania. Urban and rural, children, seniors, working people, in most neighborhoods: hunger is there. In fact one in seven people in our region doesn't get enough to eat.
